  • I'm Brooke! I'm a crazy salt lover, loud laughing goof and beach lover! I'm a wife, a mother to a spunky little man, and a camera artist! I'm a lover of light and muddy or sandy toes who always finds my family barefoot!
    We JUST moved BACK to our hometown of VIRGINIA BEACH and I'm beyond excited to dip my toes back into the ocean right in our backyard!
    Every day I am amazed at how the small moments in life; the ones in between the here and there take my breath away. I believe that REAL IS BETTER THAN PERFECT and that motherhood should be celebrated!
    I believe that each second: tantrums and tears, belly laughs and smiles.. they all hold the power of our legacy! The lovely moments that are often left out of the family portrait are those that are cherished the most: the baking days, the family dinner, the nights we stay up with our sick babes! They all contain the truest beauty of unconditional love!

There will always be days like this! And we had one of those days at my very last beach session of the season!!! We had a slow, silly, play filled time at the beach on that gift of a warm day we had this past week! No worries, no cares... just sand between our toes, salt air, snuggles, splashes, giggles and sand castles! We had plenty of time to TAKE our time and enjoy the evening and each other!     Been posting a lot of beachy sessions lately but t Been posting a lot of beachy sessions lately but this fall golden light and this incredible, fun and SWEET family from earlier in the season has me still smiling!!! And their pups 🐶❤️❤️❤️. Probably some of the best behaved fur babies I've ever had! Best kissers too 🤣🤣 I will say it over and over again... every family that I've had the honor of capturing has brought so much to my life! I don't believe in coincidences.... and I truly feel that every family has taught me something with every session ❤️❤️❤️ So tell me.... Are are you a big fur baby lover or are you in the I want to be able to hold my fur baby in my hands kinda lover?!!
    Sometimes life gets so busy we forget to take time Sometimes life gets so busy we forget to take time to enjoy the smallest moments which end up becoming our biggest moments later on! The favorite moments, the silliest... the best! The ones we remember long after time has passed! Had so much fun with this family just soaking up all the tiny moments... moments like....Mimi makes the best ribs and is a so sweet but a little gangster! That soccer is life (and so is gymnastics and dance!) That mom and dad are truly hilarious and know how to have fun! That dad is actually the oldest of all the children (and sometimes a pirate!) That looking for shells is super important! That waves... just like life can take you down but daddy's arms are there to pick you up and spin you around and make you laugh!     I feel like fall is finally Falling over here... b I feel like fall is finally Falling over here... but my family's have been ready for it for a long time!!!! Snuggling up today with some hot apple cider, a cozy blanket and a good book until it's time to head out for my next session tonight ❤️
    Welcome to the spooky street where all kinds of p Welcome to the spooky street where all kinds of people and pets stalk the night looking for a fright.... or a bite.... but don't worry they stay out of sight! Which is why Linc takes these lovable cuties for their stroll at night... out of sight of the light (except for the moon) where they can howl with all their might to their hearts delight!!! They're actually quite alright even brittle the dragon who is quite bright! And bones the dog who has quite the appetite!! And Frankie who is most polite... And wiggles the snake who just grows overnight! And let's not forget our favorite little pup candlelight! 👻👻👻👻👻👻 I had so much fun creating this although I have to admit it frustrated me quite a bit too at times! I'm so incredibly grateful to @the_life_of_aivax for sharing her wonderful talent and gift in creating tutorials and walking us through the process of creating and re-creating these works of art! Learning something new is always scary, and exciting and nerve wracking! But creating something for myself is something I haven't done in a while and I'm glad I took the time to do it... even if it was in the wee hours of dark! 100 layers later... over 70 some hours and lost track after that!!! Happy Halloween 🎃 friends!!!!
    So many gorgeous family's have come into my life t So many gorgeous family's have come into my life this season and I'm so grateful for all of them. They have each brought something different and if you know me... you know I don't believe in coincidences!!! This is why I love my job so much!!! I love capturing your memories... your love... this season of your life right now! But I hope you know that each one of you give me a gift in return! Thank you for always being there as a coach, mentor, friend and more! Coaches do so much more than step out onto the mat and show up to develop athletic abilities in their chosen sport! As parents when we choose to put our kiddos in sports or activities, we are also choosing our "village". People who are helping to raise our little ones and shape them into the beautiful humans they are growing to be. Our coaches often become their other safe people, their go to for advice outside of us... they become their mentors! They become their teachers... the people they look up to!! While the moment may feel CRAZY because we are playing.... and moving... and running... and spinning! Are you stressed before every session hoping that the baby doesn't cry or you can keep their attention?! I was JUST LIKE YOU... until I realized my background was my biggest asset... play! It's so simple we often forget!!! As a family photographer for over 13 years now (and a background in play!) I know the best way to get those authentic and real smiles, laughs, giggles and tender moments is always to make sure your families are having FUN at your sessions!!!     2 things that changed my whole perspective in my p 2 things that changed my whole perspective in my photography business... 1️⃣ Yes there are "rules" like algorithms and strategies but if it doesn't work for you... don't make yourself crazy trying to do it like your "supposed to". Run your business the way YOU want to and that feels most authentic for you! It's why you became your own boss right?! 2️⃣ you absolutely NEED a community! You need a village who can lift you up, help you out, call you out when you need it and just be there for you! Find them! Go on retreats, go to conferences... go out and meet up with people! Find people who do what you do and can understand! Learn from each other, grow with each other and most importantly BE there with each other! ❤️❤️ This gorgeous #seniorportraits was take in Vegas at our business blueprint retreat and I can not even begin to express how grateful I am for that time! #smallbusiness will teach a lot y'all!     A note to all my fellow moms! I see you! School i A note to all my fellow moms! I see you! School is back in session and we are back doing all "the things". Packing the lunches, washing the right outfits, packing the book bags and helping with homework! If you are anything like me some days you feel like you are super mom! While other days... it's just messy....and this song strikes up a chord! It just takes some time and we are in the middle... the messy middle and we are doing fine! So this is for you today! To remind you that no matter what... mood swings from tweens and teens, burnt toast, dirty dishes in the sink... we are all perfectly imperfect and our kiddos just LOVE US as unconditionally as we love them!
